PE Kit

It is essential for safety reasons that children are properly equipped for PE lessons. Please ensure that your child's P.E. kit is in school from Monday-Friday, kept in a named bag. The kit should include:

  • White t-shirt
  • navy or black shorts
  • plimsols
  • trainers are only suitable for outdoor wear
  • a tracksuit may be worn for outdoor games in cold weather

Unfortunately, we can not allow big t-shirts or long shorts as they are not safe to wear on our P.E. apparatus. In the hall children usually work in bare feet (unless they have a verruca).

Please can we ask there are no visible large sports logos. For sport fixtures, we request plain black shorts/skort/leggings/bottoms with black trainers.

To help you know which days your child will require their P.E. Kits, detailed below is our P.E. timetable for this academic year, 2022-23:

Acorns – Yr.R:
- Short PE sessions will take place throughout the week with Mrs Ramsden. At present we ask the Acrons pupils keep a pair of plimsolls in school. No other PE kit is currently required.
- In addition, Acorns have a short (approximately 30mins) Physical Activity lesson with PH Sports every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon.
- At present, we ask that Acorns pupils keep a pair of plimsolls in school, no other PE kit is required.

Oaks – Yr.1-2:
- Tuesday PM with PH Sports
- Friday PM with Mrs Virgilio

Willows – Yr.3-4:
- Monday PM Swimming with Mrs Temple-Brown
- Wednesday PM with Mrs Procter

Poplars – Yr.5-6:
- Monday PM with Mr Ashbee-Dobbins
- Thursday PM with PH Sports

PE Kit for Oaks, Willows and Poplars: due to restrictions in place for COVID-19, at present we are asking for these pupils to come into school on the appropriate days already dressed for PE. This will help to minimise the amount of additional clothing around school.

Dress to Impress

Thinking smart starts with looking smart. Here at Ogbourne we take pride in looking our best at all times; it shows that we care and that we are ready to learn. We believe that children should come to school in suitable clothes of a smart appearance.

You can order your child's school uniform and accessories through our supplier online at www.ohmclothing.co.uk. Click the school's heading at the top, then Wiltshire other, - Ogbourne St George Primary School.

Therefore, for our school we recommend and encourage both boys and girls to wear the following:

  • school royal blue sweatshirt or cardigan with embroidered school logo
  • white polo shirt
  • black, grey or navy trousers
  • black, grey or navy skirt or pinafore
  • black shoes or sandals

In summer there is the option to wear:

  • black, grey or navy shorts
  • pale blue and white checked dress

All embroidered items can be ordered from the school office. All non-embroidered items of clothing can be bought at the usual school-wear stockists, e.g. Marks & Spencer, Tesco, Asda, etc.

Comfortable, practical footwear is very important so that children may run around and play safely in the playground. This includes sandals that are supported at the heel. Trainers and high heels are not allowed for general wear.

We've noticed over time that clothes can have a mind of their own and a tendency to wander freely around the site, so please put names in all kit and uniform. It is also part of a child's education to teach them to look after their property, so labelling items supports this.
